QFCA CP No. 6 – Data Protection Rules

A QFC Authority consultation paper addressed to parties interested in the development of the legal framework governing the Qatar Financial Centre.
Article 21 of the QFC Data Protection Regulations provides the QFC Authority with the power to make Rules in respect of any matters relating to the Processing of Personal Data and the regulation of Data Controllers.
Prior to submitting these regulations, the QFC Authority issues this consultation paper inviting public comment on the proposed Rules.
Comments are invited in relation to any aspect of the Rules proposed in this paper, on both the concepts and the detailed drafting.
The QFC Authority may adopt in whole or in part the proposals outlined in this paper, or may amend the proposals in light of the comments received.
Anyone wishing to submit comments should provide details of the organisation he or she represents. The names of the commentators and the content of their submissions may be published on the QFC Regulatory Authority website and in other documents to be published by the QFC Regulatory Authority. If you wish your name to be withheld from publication please indicate this when you make your submission and the basis for the request.
